- Wrong Iron
- Steel
Caste Iron :
Caste Iron is impure form of iron containing 2% of carbon. It is hard,non-elastic and billet. It's melting point is 1200 degree Celsius. It is used in making cutting tools and agriculture equipment.
Wrought Iron :
Wrought iron is purest form of iron containing upto 20% of carbon. It is soft, elastic and ductile, etc. It's melting point is 1500 degree Celsius. It is used in making coil, wire, electromagnet, etc.
Steel
Steel is intermediate between Cast iron and Wrought iron containing 1% to 15% of carbon. It's hardness increases with increase in carbon contains. It's melting point is intermediate between 1300 to 1400 Degree Celsius.
